Graham Hill lead the British GP for the first time, albeit (iirc) for about 100 yards? :oops:

Today I recieved the original photo in the mail from Jolly Old England! and in pencil on the back it say's..........Silverstone GP 1961.........So problem solved Thanks for the replys and very interesting discussion of early mini sales pitch!!

I wonder if it was a demonstration race supporting the Empire Trophy or International Trophy at Silverstone then as the F1 GP was at Aintree in '61 as posted previously. It's unusual to see hay bales in shot from Silverstone from the period but certainly not unknown.
