Is this chassis plate off a Mini or Moke?

This is supposedly a chassis plate off a Moke - or possibly a Mini.

Has anyone seen a prefix like this? A friend was given it and was told it was off a Moke - maybe an early UK CKD kit which went to Aussie - or maybe South Africa perhaps. Aussie only had Morris I think - so maybe not from there?

Any ideas?

an austin with a mild cam and a morris with a very long stroke ??????????????????????

Looks like a home made job to me too, but I am no expert on chassis numbers.

One thing sure: it's not from an english moke (prefix MABIL or AABIL, i ve got a 65 english moke)

The plate looks very much like a home made one (not reverse stamped & not even in a straight line!!!), so I'd assume it is a made up number aswell.

Maybe made up number but I gatherfrom my friend it is an orig plate from some time ago.
