2 speed wiper motor query

whats the situation with 2 speed wiper motors?
I have one that is pretty much dead now..it'sl been dying of a slow death since October. Can these be refurbished at all?
Also, the 2 speed motor is encassed in the earlier square box type case...where these actually made, or is it somehow the later version somehow retrofitted into an earlier one?

Two speed DR3 wiper motors were fitted to some Triumph TR4s. Most of the classic parts specialists do re-con ones, but they are pricey.

hmmm...thanks for that. looking at the prices, it might be worth me stripping my one apart and seeing what i can do with it.
