GRX 309D

Post by dwb998 »

I have looked through many posts and cannot believe some of them . I have examined the car and can tell u that this is a GP1 car and the arches it has on are the much later GP 6 type which did not exist in 1966 . Inside the car it demonstrates all the signs of GP1 car less heated front window . All the holes are in the correct place for clips and Liftadots to secure the tool and spares bags that these cars carried . The cars underside has seen extreme use. The odd use of 4 screenjets can clearly be seen on the Flowers photos in 1966 . The GP1 cars had dynamos with 3 bobbin control units as Monte cars . There is also evidence of the K........ seat covers that these cars used and an easy one the chrome switches are blacked out. I understand directly from Mr Hopkirk that the rally was very rough indeed

Thanks for your input dwb, very good points, but there's no need to keep starting a new thread, you would be better adding to the Works car found thread.
Best regards
Dave :)

Hmmm.
Except for the fact that the lines are inside, which makes it a group 2 car.
