GRX 309D

It took one glance at the red and white mini cooper in Pauls barn to realise that I was looking at an Abingdon built Mini Cooper S the hairs stood up on the back of my neck. I opened the bonnet to look at the asbestos shield on the bulkhead the service pipes went through the bulkhead in the right places all the tiny holes were in the right places to be a dynamo GP 1 car this was heading towards a Monte Carlo car .But the strange arrangement of the 4 yes 4 screenjets denied this. Inside the works credibility continued all the strange Irvin mounting points were there the holes where the passenger and driver dashboards had been .The passenger side padding yes the real padding was there .The usual array of holes where tool bags and clips had been on seat pan and parcel shelf I now had damp trousers of joy But again no heated screen holes Not Monte Carlo car In the boot next to find the usual modifications to the battery position the tank straps altered as Abingdon and a sign of none terminal crash damage Back to the front THE ORIGINAL FRONT PANEL and I noticed that inner wings may have been bulged which became common to these later cars It soon became clear that this must be a RALLY OF THE FLOWERS car this was confirmed by the A Number on the front panel This should be hailed as a FANTASTIC find and everybody who loves these cars as I do should rejoice I am going to do my best to help discover more about this fantastic bit of history

Pleased use the main thread on this subject.

Starting multiple threads with the same subject is very confusing.
