Hi fellow enthusiasts, I have to repair the floor in my K and I have a query.
I need to cut the floor (drill spot welds from door step) probably as far back as the crossmember. After that I want to remove the outer sill prior to media blasting to remove the rust I suspect is under there (sill closing panel at the front arch is rotted) although the outer sill is still solid.
Should I brace before removing the floor and or once the floor is replaced but the outer sill is removed
If you are going to brace then I would suggest doing it first. However, I feel that this is a subject that there is a lot of balls talked about. In my experience it is usually easier not to brace, but to ensure everything fits together correctly before final welding.
I guess it's a case of you pays your money & makes your choice.

If your door gaps are perfect then brace the door jamb with an "X" of flatbar. If the gaps need adjusting then leave it out and adjust while doing metal work and brace when set.
Thanks for the info guys, I will offer up the door again and see how I go. I will do it one section at a time, should be ok. Everything is pretty solid but theres a bit of digging and patching before I'm satisfied.
