Tappet chest breather

Post by miniminor »

Where should the breather pipe on the tappet chest cover be connected to on an 850 Mk1?
Mine had no pipe attached at all.

I don't think they were piped to anywhere, the early 850's and 997's just vented down and out the back of the block?

BMC chassis lubrication / corrosion resistance system!

I'll have a look in my Factory parts book tonight....... :ugeek:

Is there any way of protecting your block paving with this vent.
Can you swap the cover for a less drippy type?

A latter canister one type will fit just the same. http://www.minispares.com/product/Class ... o%20search

You could use a T piece on the pipe to join it onto the rocker cover breather.

Thanks for that Tupers. Wasn't sure if they would hit the manifold.
