Can anyone tell me which way the chassis plate should face?? some pictures show the chassis plate facing out and some show it facing in. Is there a right way???

Re: Chassis Plate
On the unmolested cars that I've owned the chassis plate has always faced out. Quite often you see them turned round to face the engine bay on restored cars.

No, I have the same view as Pete.
The power of accurate observation is commonly called cynicism by those who do not possess it.

Re: Chassis Plate
I have spoken to several people and the general consensus is that unrestored cars have the chassis plate facing out so thats the way I put it. Thanks everyone!

Re: Chassis Plate
Interesting. All I've seen over here (CKDs), original and untouched, have the numbers facing the engine.

Re: Chassis Plate
Apparently there may be some difference between the cars made at Cowley and the cars made at Longbridge but for my SDL it seems that facing out is right. Thats what the people who are in the know seem to think anyway.
