Hi Folks. A big (terrestrial) TV company has been in touch to ask if I know anyone in the Manchester/Sheffield area who is willing to loan them a reasonably standard Mk1 Cooper/S to use for a day's filming in the Penines next Friday 31st. It will form a major part of the Mini episode of a series of shows devoted to iconic classic cars. The presenter is a well known actor.
Anyone interested (no rally cars or dragsters !) (it'd be a doddle to find one of those ! ) please get in touch by PM and I'll let you have the details.
Cheers
Pete

The well known actor is not Richard Wilson is it? His last series of driving classic roads in classic cars displayed a singular lack of basic competence to operate the controls (in the right order anyway...).

Well filming took place today and well done to John for stepping in with his white/black '66 Morris Cooper. John got P+*s*ed wet through but Phil Glenister (Gene Hunt out of Life On Mars) said it's the best car he'd driven in the series. Apparently C4 are restoring a Downton car (??) which will be auctioned off when finished. I'll see if I can find out more.
