Looks quite nice and it might be a real one with its two owner history.

Very nice, some trim looks wrong but it is a 50 year old car. No under bonnet shot is a worry, but the dash has to be worth plenty alone.

Getting picky now, does the 'S' badge on the front look a little low or is it my old eyes.

Me Too. But doesn't the right wing look like it took a tap as the hood and lines are all off.
Although a very nice mini..

The door straps look like the 'Cosmic' after market type which help to keep the door open rather than have it shut on your leg  , my car has them to, must have been all the rage back in the day

If I was spending £30K on a 1071 I doubt the "wrong" washer jets would sway me one way or another to be fair. I've seen a fair few of pukka cars with history over the years but "wrong" bits on so to speak but the number of those cars have been far outweighed by totally 'date stamp correct' , 'detail perfect' fakes.

Estimate is 20-30k Euros.
I agree the panel fit looks a bit off with stuff going on around the n/s door hinge.
I too love the dash.
I hope to be there so I'll give it a once over!

Two owners, yes but in France. It was first sold at Conventry in may 64. How many owners in UK?. In France at the end of the 80'S. So, old resto and some homemade (carpets..) but original shell, engine and trim.

No chance of a similar car with this car's identity in the UK I imagine....

It went for £35,500 including commission. Wonder if it will end up back in the UK.

I agree with pluto. There was no paperwork with the car at all - nothing - other than the Heritage Certificate which stated twin tanks and 4.5 rims. It was on 3.5's. Highly risky buy in my view, but could be OK.
Prices for all good stuff at the auction were very very high, with even middling quality cars selling quite well.

Seems ridiculous considering the lack of paperwork, umpty panel fit and pattern sills etc. Prices like that never cease to amaze me, like the rot box S that went for £17K at the NEC.
A nicely restored equivalent mid 60's Mk1 850 is still only about £7-8K, I just don't see a £27K difference between one of those and that 1071 !? Each to their own though I suppose and I'm sure the buyer will be happy (not as happy as the seller though ! ) .

Tis a nice car looks lovely..but for a 50 year old jalopy u have to wonder how much work over the decades its had done ??.it may well have been a rust bucket at one time ,but if its basically original with a few nice period add ons and I had the spare Wonga I would buy it cos it looks a beaut !! further I would be intrigued to see pics of it in the 80,s and 90,s tho ??....but they never ever get shown when the history of a car may be questionable when offered for sale for what is a huge sum !!!.....foxy52

I got pics from the 80's and 90's (resto in 1992). The car was not bad at all but the resto was sometimes "economical". Original reg was SUN 72. It was delivered in may 64 near Coventry with 4,5 rims, close ration gearbox and sumpguard (and only one tank). For little racing?
