Announcing the new DEWS Speed Championship, a mix of Hillclimb and Sprint events at some of the best venues across the country. It would be great to see some of the Northern and Midland Mini enthusiasts take part this year. There are classes for all types of classic Mini, A series engine cars, Downton related vehicles 1947 – 1976 and an Invitation class for DEWS members whose cars fall outside the classic classes.
There will be championship awards Sponsored by Janspeed Engineering, a special award ‘The Wiscombe Challenge Trophy’ for the most consistant performance over 6 events and Burlen Services award for the highest placed car running on SU carburettors.
2013 saw 35 registered contenders scoring points in 23 rounds at 7 venues, for 2014 we have added two new venues Gurston Down and Llandow, 22 enthusiastic owners have already signed up for the series, registration and membership forms are available at [url][url]www.dewsc.org.uk as is the calendar of events.
Look forward to seeing you at an event!!

Re: New Classic Hillclimb/Speed Championship
You are not wrong Eddie, there is a bias to the Southern events, as most of the competitors are based below Gloucester, having said that Harewood and Loton have both had a DEWS class in the past years but only the Southerners have attended in the main Derek (Maguire) Kessel who travels from Cornwall! That's a hell of a trip to Harewood, I would love to see and meet fellow enthusiast of the oop North variety, the run down the M5 to Wiscombe is relatively painless, you might not understand the way we talk at first but we are a friendly bunch and if we could get more interest we could add some more venues that might be easier for access.
All the best
