Does anyone know which company holds the "Motor" magazine photo archive, I am trying to find a specific picture, but can't remember who has it now.
Any help is much appreciated.

Re: Motor Magazine Photo Archive
Try contacting Autocar, they took over/merged with Motor in the mid 90's to become Autocar & Motor then just back to Autocar again a few years later.

Re: Motor Magazine Photo Archive
I may be wrong but I don't think there's such a thing. Many of the popular magazines employed specific photo agents to supply snappers/shots to which they held the copyright and some of those surviving collections (most of the shots in Autosport for example) found their way to LAT. May well be worth asking them if they have a specific shot, they're pretty good if you have an event/date. I've mailed you about this Mark as I do have a fair collection of old Motors mags.

Re: Motor Magazine Photo Archive
When Motor was bought by Haymarket and merged with Autocar in 1988, some of the photo library went to Haymarket and will now be contained within the LAT archive, which Haymarket also bought and continues to run. Quite a lot of the Motor collection, however, was 'annexed' by Classic Cars magazine, then owned by the same company as Motor and occupying the same building (Prospect House in Cheam). It was a resource very useful to CC and understandably it wanted to hold on to it. (I know all this because I was on Motor at the time.)
Classic Cars now belongs to Bauer (formerly Emap) in Peterborough but still has those Motor pics, I think. Trouble is, if there's a particular Motor pic you want, there's no easy way of knowing which library it ended up in. The CC archivist is Tony Turner on 01733 468223. LAT number is 0208 251 3000.
Hope that helps.
