YES 120 AND 120+ CLOCKS have a very distinct difference between the two and which cars they were fitted to. And sadly the inners to my 1071 upper right speedo are totally incorrect and sold by one of our fellow posters. Live and learn the rest are authentic but only the face of the 1071/970 120 MPH is authentic.

I'd rather have the W&P Clubman next to it, or maybe just the doors from it.

About half the 970s and the early 1275s were fitted with the early speedo.scott6058 wrote:YES 120 AND 120+ CLOCKS have a very distinct difference between the two and which cars they were fitted to. The graduations on the speedo tell you NOTHING about the size of the motor, (except all 1071s had the early one) the change point was INDEPENDENT of engine size, it was done when they also introduced the voltage stabiliser.

They do unearth some amazing cars over there, that looks like the original tub as well. Underside has had some 'reprofiling' and cack repairs but a full mini machine floor would sort that out. The rest looks like a breeze compared to the P38/crusty jobs we're used to. Well spotted.

Holy moley. At least you'd only need to buy 1/6th of a container to ship itPete wrote:Looks like a late '63 1071. Better nik than this 1275 :

It's hard to tell if its a cooper or S they shared the same chassis numbers at this time. You would need to see the engine number or Heritage cert to be sure. Looks like the regulator was screwed on to the inner wing! See nylon plugs and screws, they were originally on the bulkhead! Speedo could be a plant! He is not saying it's an S but suggests it in photos

That was my only reservation Nev,you can't see the hole for the voltage reg through the subframe tab.Nevsmini wrote:It's hard to tell if its a cooper or S they shared the same chassis numbers at this time. Classic Mini electric drive train:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Classic-mini- ... 4d172919e4
Quote:
"Originally built as an electric drivetrain for the prototype Trend-E electric powered kit car. Comprises an 8 kw electric motor driving a standard mini gearbox through a layshaft onto the clutch. This arrangement allowed for the standard mini pedal and instrumentation layout to be retained. Powered by lead acid batteries giving an output of 72v the vehicle achieved 45mph top speed and a range of 45 miles. the unit is capable of being powered by lithium ion batteries as well.
Drive controls include - Curtis Instruments speed controller & main contactor, main contactors by Machine Electrics and a Zivan NG3 Battery charger. The controls are mounted immediately adjacent to the motor resulting in a compact unit that takes up no more space than a stabdard mini engine. DRIVING IT WAS A HOOT !!!! you could accelerate from a standstill in fourth with no problems and would tow a medium sized caravan so power was no problem."
