Hydrolastic units

Hi all

I am rebuilding hydro suspension on a 67 Mk1 cooper s. I have 4 x 21a1477 displacers and wondered if these can be used front and rear on this car.

I think the S used silver band units but I don't have these. Any advise welcome or any correct units for sale appreciated.

If these units are for a normal mini they will work ok . but with the power of say a 1275 will give you nose up on accelerating and then braking a nose dive .Solution fit relative brackets and shock absorbers to front, plus taller bumpstops to front and rear ,this will give you a hydro ride and looks, with reasonable behaviour. My Jan '67 build Cooper S 1275 came with blue band displacers, although I can't be 100% sure they were original to the car. But I'm reasonably sure...

I had new units on mine, which I bought as a restored rally car. It was not the deal. I converted to dry.

Unless you are forestry rallying, or after mega originality, I would get some pre 64 frames and cones. I didn't like the way mine went over speed bumps and seemed to wallow a bit. It was too much like my citroen BX.
