Help with seat bracket
Many years ago we had a ( French registered ) mini through the workshop which had a unique front seat mounting bracket , when the seat was tilted forward the bracket enabled the seat to move forward almost into the footwell , this enabled decent access to the rear seats . does anyone know if this was a factory fit for 'export' minis to certain markets OR an aftermarket fitting ? . even a photo of this bracket will do to sort a problem we are dealing with at the moment . any help would be appreciated .

Re: Help with seat bracket
was it the base of the seat that differed or the seat stands that bolted to the cross member?
if it was the seat its self, it may have been a ministry of supply spec seat for a disabled driver, these used the early 'hoop' type front legs - so bolted to the flat seat stands with the four bolt holes. (but the seat stands them self offered no more movement than the normal triangle shape stands)
the seat had a 'twagger' in the middle of the base (i.e between the legs' that could be moved so the seat quickly and easily could be slid through a far greater range than a normal seat.
they are ace

Re: Help with seat bracket
As Rich has said that seat is what I thought of.
If you want I could take a picture of one tomorrow. Date wise the one I have is out of a mid 70's 850 SDL model.

Re: Help with seat bracket

The pictures show the seat runners in fully forward and then fully back positions. This seat gave more travel back and fore and if the seat was fully forward, then tipped up gave easy access to the back seat.

Re: Help with seat bracket
the seats also slide like they are on glass
not like normal seats where you have to either brace yourself against the bulkhead to push them back, or heave against the steering wheel to drag the seat forwards!
im surprised people don't use the bases from the ministry of supply seats to mount aftermarket seats on them, they are such superior design over the standard seat.

Re: Help with seat bracket
they do turn up on ebay every now and again, trouble is, most peoplethrew them away in the 1980's when they where converting ministry of supply cars back to 'normal' cars
it might be worth having a word with tim harber, he sorted me out with a pair last year
