Racing Mini Jigsaw Puzzle - Brands Hatch Grid
Jumbo Mini Puzzle (spotted on Autosport forum)
Assembled
Forum Quotes:
"DJ Bond Racing Mini on pole in that Brands pic. Probably Terry Harmer? 1968-ish?"
"It shows a Mini racing grid on what must be Brands Hatch, early 70’s? The box carries not a single mention of the subject, let alone how this English club scene picture ended up in a Dutch produced (Jumbo) jigsaw puzzle."

That's awesome, I like the fluorescent one minus it's rear valance.
Re: Racing Mini Jigsaw Puzzle - Brands Hatch Grid
There was one of those for sale in the auto-jumble at the Mini World Action day back in September. I saw it in the morning and then promptly forgot to go and get it in the afternoon. Not to worry though, as Tim Harber also saw it and purchased it on the spot. It is currently sitting in his office.
When I was last down there we were trying to figure out what year it could be and came to the conclusion that it must be around 1967 or 1968. Note there are no Mk2 lights on any of the cars, a popular upgrade when they came out.

Love the fact that the orange Mini has one brake light on the off side, the near side being plated in. Never noticed that before on early race Minis!

I believe it is '68 and That looks like Jonathan Buncombe standing next to car 15 He was racing a mini the following year so it probably would not be '69.
Just remembered the old tunnel next to the control tower?
Pushed many a motorbike and sidecar through there Pip Harris, Chris Vincent, Bill Boddice etc..

Re: Racing Mini Jigsaw Puzzle - Brands Hatch Grid
I have a similar age puzzle somewhere .
Its pictured at Brands again .
The picture is looking back at the grid that is shared by Mini's and Escorts.
Must look for it .

I'm glad one of us recognises these folk. I asked about then did a bit of internet research and came up with Terry Harmer connection:trevorhp wrote:I believe it is '68 and That looks like Jonathan Buncombe standing next to car 15
which lead me on to looking at all the other period stuff. Trailers not quite reached the swanky level that we have available today , even for the Volvo owners amongst us :
and then to try and work out what the sports car in the foreground is (Daren ? Piper?) whilst trying not to be distracted by the bus in the background:
