original exhaust 1963
Does anyone know what exhaust I need for my 850 1963 Super de-lux. I would like it to be as original as possible.

Re: original exhaust 1963
Try Somerford for the early exhaust with the wiggle in the pipe to avoid the floor start.

Re: original exhaust 1963
Minispares also make the standard exhaust that works with a floor-start. GEX177 is the part number for you!

Re: original exhaust 1963
One has to ask why as I was under the impression that a SDL was effectively a Cooper with 850 engine and brakes.coop12g295 wrote:My sdl has a floor start!

Re: original exhaust 1963
It was the Super models which were similar to the Cooper models. The SDL replaced them and were all fitted with floor starts in 1963.

Re: original exhaust 1963
Can anybody provide me with a link to the right exhaust for my car? So many to choose from and I don't know which is the closest to the original.

Re: original exhaust 1963
The original single box system to clear floor start ('59-'64) is GEX 135 but that's not available anywhere as far as I know (?) so you'll have to order the later GEX 106 system (850, '64 on) and get the front pipe modded to clear the floor start. Somerford will do it but will charge a little extra for this.

These guys list exhausts for 1959 to 1968 Minis. A bit pricey though.

Re: original exhaust 1963
Hello,
the front pipe of my '59 Morris is damaged no, so need a new one. What is the best possible choice in mild steel available for the early floor-start cars at the moment? Thank you very much for help.
Best regards
John

Re: original exhaust 1963
Is the one piece single box no longer available? With the wiggle to avoid the solenoid?
