After my recent crash course in hangar identification I fear you may be wrong Rich!!

That is not my car either of that I am certain....I believe I do have a picture of this car, undamaged, somewhere though, possibly in France if I recall. That does however look awfully like the old office building at Silverstone on the hangar straight...here we go.

at the risk of been proved wrong (again), that's not brands hatch, I think the stands in the background are the large Silverstone ones.

im 99% sure that there was never a house type building at brands, all the stands and offices etc where on the start/finish straight and where square 1960's looking things (look at the jigsaw thread for pictures)

There used to be all sorts of buildings by the paddock entrance at Brands. Also there used to be stands on Paddock Hill bend. The paddock used to be at the top of the hill, just as you came in from Scratchers Lane, before they built the Kentagon in the 1970's. Also the race results that I linked would suggest it is.

Here's a nice bit of old film which shows the stands in 1969 and what looks like the building in question, @ 40sec, at the bottom of Paddock hill.

There's a couple of good pics of the sister car, No. 125, of John Rhodes here.

Stu's right with Brands '69, the first give away is the 10" Minilite wheels used in the early part of that season (soon swapped to 12"). Handley apparently binned it after getting on the wet grass. The car wore the OBL 46F reg number in that race. Pretty poor start to Abingdon's first race season with Rhodes destroying his car aswell. I've got some nice pictures of this event from Hayward as above.

I think John Handley was in OBL 45F and John Rhodes in OBL 46F.

Helps if you are of a certain age and lived locally....

I took this in 1967 (Light has got in at top of slide and fogged it). Instamatic or Brownie I think

I couldn't find any rear shots of Handley's car from this '69 Brands race to pin down the registration though I suppose it's pretty academic as Abingdon were slapping any old rally car plate on their race cars at this point like LBL ,GRX's, LRX's, OBL's etc, makes you wonder what paperwork those old bent rally shells went out of Abingdon with (if any) when they flogged 'em all off. I've quite a few decent B&W frontal and side shots of Handley in this car and just one fuzzy colour shot :

Both BMC and the Britax cars were still on 10" Minilites for this race.
