here is a question

mk1 brake servo

what colour should the air can be - gold zinc passivate or dull matt grey (like the old master cylinders)

Originally they were more of a yellowy silver zinc, not the very bright deep gold of modern repros and deffo not dull grey.

Note how gold the heater valve looks in comparison on this period shot :
