Has this one fallen off the Mini radar now? went today and only spotted two Minis, one a Vauxhall engined one in the Paddock and a Gt in the Rally Gb area...plus the MINI WRC car...
Was actually a good day today for pictures etc as no crowds, had the feel of the first one in 2008 in many ways Scramblers deserve medals for riding in such weather....the ground today was starting to become quite Somme like, parking behind the paddock gave me slopes to traverse of 2 ft high wet grass and mud... (good fun though )
All in all a good show, but at £35 a ticket for tomorrow i'd be thinking twice...for the average family on the gate that's £90!!

Slightly. I did offer to provide a decent Cooper S to celebrate 50 years but they were not interested to say the least, they're doing Porsche, Bentley (again) (and again) and er.. Lambos this year. Just the sort of stuff your average man in the street can identify with. When we enterred last year the punters were all over us because average Jo wants to see these little giant killers aswell as the supercars. CPOP don't seem to agree.Brynmor wrote:Has this one fallen off the Mini radar now?
The GT is Tom Bradley's who's enterred with the Gp B rally mob as has Dave Archer with his Escort (that's a car not a lady !), they didn't want a real Mini so got a Vauxhaul engined car in instead. They've never been good at 50's and 60's saloons but this year have excelled themselves with barely a saloon car in sight on that entry list.
Sour grapes , moi ??
Typically it absolutely 'Chumley'd' it down today making it the 5th (or is it 6th ?) consecutively p*ssing wet Chumly Pageant, that's just lousy luck isn't it and I do feel sincerely sorry for them. They lost touch with the local petrol headed public however after the second or third one and now seem to think we're all Bentley driving hooray Henrys with wads of cash to spend on tickets. In the North West ???
RAC Rally promo this year though Bryn ?

Re: Pageant of power?
The Rac rally Gb stand was very good to be fair and they finally got a really good selection of 'works' Ford competition cars...the Lambo display is four cars and I didn't really notice anything Porsche themed??
I wouldn't have gone but for the free Top Gear magazine ticket.....incidentally we offered a newly restored Escort Cosworth last year for the 20th anniversary of it being built and got....nowt...lol

Pete - Never mind Here's a picture of the GT on the track. Being a member of Rallying with Group B got me 2 free runs round the track per day as a guest of the MSA who were promoting the Rally GB.

Pete. I have been reading your posts on the event with interest as its only 20 minutes away from me. I hate race tracks but I am considering bringing both of my GT's and I shall let you know soon. The one on the right in the photo has not been seen in public since it finished its last event -International Rally D' Antibes in 1986 and is as it finished. I thought it may be an idea to give it an airing on the track where there are no silly modern rules other than common sense safety.Pete wrote:Hi Tom ! Also spoke to Jumping Jeff Williamson this morning and he is also interested in bringing one of his fleet.
Speak soon. Tom Bradley

Awesome, and if you prefer we'll get one of the lads to throw mud onto the corners and a bit of gravel.petom wrote: Also spoke to Jumping Jeff Williamson this morning and he is also interested in bringing one of his fleet.
