Snow Tires (with or without studs)?

Post by formulaphoto »

I think the old forum has some threads about this, but I can't find much info online about 10" winter tires. Probably because they are virtually non-existent!

My Mk1 had Michelin snow tires on it when I bought it, but they are cracked and old. I am planning to do some winter rallies and need to find some new options.

Maxsport Hakka's with studs seem to be the only option? Anyone know of something else available?

Thanks!

So all we need now is an importer into the UK! Managed to get a set of Hakkas but I now can't see them listed anywhere in the UK. Anyone know of a source?

I'm sure I saw some Hakkas in the MiniSport showroom the other week, not studded ones though.

Thanks. Might splurge but more in need of either A032 or a rain tyre. Noted for future though.

Colway do a mud/snow tire which are quite affordable.

Have a set to use this winter and are meant to be quite good by all accounts.

Anyone know a place that has Colway tires in stock? Seems they went out of business in '07?

Colway did indeed go Ti*s up, but another tyre manufacturer bought the moulds.
For the life of me I can't remember who it was and who it was that told me.

For some reason Kingpin came to mind.
