The reason why the mini has been put on hold

Post by tomkidd »

This is the reason why the grey mini has stalled recently, I've been building somewhere for the minis to live

Ha, if you look at either side you will see some walls, they were existing so that is the only space I had to play with to avoid planning permission and loads more cost.

We have a driveway aswell so the area where the garage is now was just a double parking bay cut into the garden which is higher.

No mate, after looking at those kits I spoke to a local joiner who said I could have a bespoke one for not much more.
The main posts are reclaimed pitch pine from an old warehouse on the docks in Lancaster which have been machined down.
My brother and I did the roof which is OSB and fibleglass made to look like a metal zinc type roof (if you squint).

I went to IKEA last night to get some kitchen units for it to go across one of the bays.

Here is another shot of it in progress from the other side

there is a house somewhere in Harrogate that's got a big extension, in the middle of the floor (under the carpet) is a manhole for the septic tank......

someones been a little naughty in the past

a mate of mine was called out to quote to fix the problem, the costs where so big that the owner just rolled the carpet back over it and said he would worry about it if there was ever a problem!!!

could you imagine the hassle and smell of sorting that out if it backs up?

I know your new location well Tom - spent a lot of time there as a kid and still have good friends around the village. I can't place the house though, bug looks very nice.

Would love to come and be nosey - been planning a garage build in my head for a while.....

A few years ago I did the plands for a pal's garage for him.

It was very carfully designed to fall JUST below the area where Planning permission was needed.

I copied the details of the spec from other planning applications, so thought I'd share them here to save anyone else the bother of searching.....

God only knows what the builders actually built!
