It was a hard decision to make but we have to vacate the premises so our Mk1 Morris 1100 has gone, for scrap money. It's been in the family since 69, passed from my aunt to grandad, dad then me. Passed my test in it 30 years ago, many fond memories of it when I was growing up. Would have loved to put it back on the road but no time and nowhere to put it. I'm amazed that these aren't more popular, tremendous cars.

Very sad that far less worthy classics have a more dedicated following.

Re: 1100 Gone
That is really sad, I am sorry to hear that it had to go to the happy hunting ground. My lad will end up with either an 1100 or possibly a Moggie Minor for his first car

Very sad indeed!
I myself have very fond memories of my six Austin Americas. They were actually a bloody good driver. Ahh but modern times (and wife) now requires ABS, airbags etc. Somehow I never thought of them as a classic, but that's aso what they said about the 850 mini.

Oh that's a really sad site, trouble is they don't fetch good money so the cost of expensive repairs make them uneconomical in the long run, what a shame with all that family history as well. Personally I think the,re a great little classic, the nearest driving experience to a mini but with 4 doors and a fair size boot. I brought one a couple of years ago for a daily driver, a low mileage mk2 , all original inside and out for £850, no road tax, cheap insurance and cheap to service, giving me about 35 mpg . It sits outside in all weathers and has never let me down once and is a pleasure to drive every day bringing smiles to many people along way. Promotion over.
