Why ? (Not that I'm complaining)

Despite the anniversies of the Lotus Tina and Porsche 911 being everywhere at events this year, the 50th of the Cooper S has barely raised an eyebrow anywhere (despite my best efforts).

I don't know pete, but ive just heard that the main thing that I had been pointing various people in the direction of isn't happening - which is a bit of a shame, im sure the rest of it will look 'o.k' (one car will, I sold the owner a stack of stuff for it! )

The streaming was great til the race started then broke up a little , fine after the race too !

Minis got swallowed up pretty quickly on a dry track though 6th for Gavin was a good result. Swifty just needs rain tomorrow !

Spent yesterday down there in the classic car park, not many Minis or Mutants, E-Types though, they were everywhere!, and there does seem to be a trend for unrestored American iron, which I must admit to liking, there was a lovely V8 Falcon Sprint in white and rust, I would happily make room for that in my garage :D

Bikes just finished next up the main race of the day (for us  ), don't know what the ambulance was doing on the track on the last lap ?

Few spots of rain at lavant, but not enough to slow down the V8's, come on the Minis :D

That was Ruhan that got punted by his pal in the Alfa (who cut the corner). Ruhan got out OK, the car sliding down the track on it's roof, then rolling, looks totalled.

Andy got a blinding start , Swifty drove superbly !

The Alfa GTA finishing 2nd takes the overall win, a very unusual car to win, can't see I've ever seen one come anywhere near before ?

Well Jimmy Fuller pedals his quite well in HSCC - Car 33, usually mixing it with the Cortinas.

That's a Giulia Sprint GT -as he's always quick to point out when GTAs are mentioned. HSCC cut off is end 65. (GTA was much lighter for 66 - and ended the one year domination of the Alan Mann Cortinas in Europe)

Ironic that I once heard Jimmy (at his home in Anu) dismiss both Goodwoods as being for posers.

I think that's a little harsh, the whole 'posing' bit is all part of the living theatre that is the Revival. Without all the 'costume' and drama it'd just be another boring historic race meeting. However the celeb contingent and closed shop that goes with it must frustrate some drivers with genuine race history who are not involved. Chris Evans for example could be said to be a Goodwood poser but still has petrol for blood like the rest of us here.

Goodwood poser alert! (Garden centre content)

Proud dad at Goodwood this weekend, picture taken on Friday. Eagle eyed viewers may spot the Mk1 Performance Conversions sticker in the rear window :-) Out of shot was a fantastic internal tank woody in Speedwell blue, not sure if the owner is on this site but it was lovely.

I normally avoid having my picture taken with the car, but made an exception this time.
