Dilemma dilemma dilemma

Post by pad4 »

fek - i really think im gonna have to loose a mini or two and im starting having bloody sleepless nights over it - its purely a space thing as there in my works BUT we really really need the room now plus ive totally lost track of what i wanted to do with a mini - long distance classic rally so if im honest , im spending to much time in the garage rather than out driving them !!

My 8 ports been out once in the last year but its totally no good for long distance rallies unless i build another engine for it (which i have but it will be a 5 port) plus doing this will mean i have to get its fia historic papers changed etc etc

my black mk3 S has just gotten back on the road so im still in the honeymoon period with it

my battered red mk3 rally hack is now there to be rebuilt as the shell has finally died

Mi shiny restored mk3 rally shell is still waiting about after almost 15 years now to have something done with it (maybe use the parts from the battered red one)

and mi little white mini 1000 - dont know why i bought it but i did

in reality 2 maybe 3 have to go

i could sell the 8 port and poss buy a more suitable classic rally mk1 or 2

dont want to loose the black mk3

that solves 2 issues but what to do with the rest - what to do ?????

yours confused from lancashire !

Pad I here what you are saying. I'm in the same boat being work on mini's solid for the last 4 years and not enjoying them when I should. So I'm telling myself after my current resto I'm going to enjoy driving them in the summer and then tip away at my next project in the winter as I enjoy restoring them as much as driving them. So I would say finish a car you enjoy driving and keep a car to work on so you have the right balance.
Cheers

just find some storage space away from work, probably easier for you where your situated than it was for me!
Get some use out of them :!: , I enjoy the classic car tours (like the HRCR series) to keep the rust off and everything working.
Wanna see what I'm playing with? Youtube Channel
Caution ;) may contain 8 Ports, Xe's and VTec's, I don't do standard!

too many cars somtimes is hard to apprecitate, can be very overwhelming. just my advice....take a weekend off and go to a theme park, rent a toyota prius electric car,do yard work, pick up dog crap, go to a shooping mall, wait in long lines to buy crap you don't really need....all your mini problems might put a smile on your face and reinspire you.................works for me! jw
