Mystery Convertible

Does anyone have any knowledge regarding this convertible that was apparently done in the early 1960's?



Any info . suggestions would be much appreciated.

This car I worked on in the seventies I have been looking into this as I live near Brighton a I am sure this conversion was done locally there was a guy called Peter Reed who converted a few minis years ago but cant seem to locate him at the moment.This car is America now and I have told the owner the owner that I am trying to find information about the car, as soon as I find out I will let you know.

Know it well. The full story as I know it involves John Cooper, Ted Bennet (the maker of the Wildgoose Minis) and a Cadillac. The short story is that it is a one off. I imported it to the U.S. in 1989. It was built on a May '61 shell. It was purchased from me and the new owner had me install a 998 and S brakes. He used it occasionally before selling it. The next owner recenetly sold it and it has left the Seattle area and now resides in Michigan.
By the way, if you find the person I bought it from, Stephen Diplock (of Worthing in 1989), collect the $350 he still owes me.
