Minisprint at MITP Santa Pod

Post by mab01uk »

Badly damaged on the strip at Mini in the Park this weekend but luckily owner/driver Paul Wiginton who built this 1960 Minisprint is a panel beater....

"The car is fixable, it might need a new rear valance but the rest of it will knock out.
to be honest for years Ive been wanting to strip it, tidy it up and repaint it as I built it 13 years ago and its starting to show so now I have an excuse.
I think I might have got 1st gear instead of 3rd but not quite sure. I was doing around 70mph as I changed gear so doubt it was going much slower than that when it hit the concrete."

ohhh now that is a shame

that's such a nice car and built to a very high standard

im sure paul wiginton will be able to fix it, I think his metal working skills would show just about any one else up!

That is a nasty bump! I hope Paul is not feeling too stiff this morning. Although he is a superb panel master I reckon that is going to take some pulling out.

Paul has apologised to the BMW MINI driver via TMF. :D

"Emily ( who was in the Blue MINI Cooper S ) said she just froze and kept her foot on the loud pedal and closed her eyes. She was ok after a quick sit down and was back up the strip"
