New from Spain.

Post by Fass »

I've been all week end browsing your superb web about Mark one Minis. Congratulations.

I'm a young guy from Madrid, I've been involved with classic Minis since I was a child.During the university years I prepared a Red 850, then upgraded to a Authi built 1000 prepared by Antonio Albacete (Me-Pre) which I still keep at my home in the countryside.During that time living I left behind the 1965 Barcelona Motorshow Harold Radford Cooper S 1275 in brown, a green mk1 S and another coachbuilt Minis and Austin 1300.

A couple of years ago I bought an 1965 Austin Cooper S 1275 that was raced in Spain in the 60-70's and now in need of full rebuild. This car was originally a rhd Surf blue car uk delivered to Maskells in Brighton in surf blue with Old English White top and blue and gold trim as the certificate says. Now the car looks like a Authi Cooper 1300 replica with mk3 rear lights, etc...

Last year I bought from its only owner the ( as specifies in the certificate) 1964 British Trade fair car in Barcelona, a black 998 Austin Cooper coachbuilt with hand painted wicker sides effect and luxurious interior, in very nice original condition.

And finally some months ago I bought another racing Mini Mk2 converted to fast road use. In this case, the owner told me this was a very special car he bought from Downton in 1970 with injection and 12 inch Minilites. A diplomatic friend took the car into Spain and they raced the car in the Spanish championship. The car was later restored as a normal car and has been stored till now.

Kind regards and thanks in advance.
