I've been watching and echo what youve said. Sadly the Aston Martin team lost another car in a very similar fashion, but they have one car left that can win the GT class in Allen Simonsen's memory - it's going to be a good finish.

Got back last night from going to watch the race, real tragedy for Allen. I was sitting at the entrance to Tete Rouge corner at the time and only saw what had happened on the big screen in front of us. Thought something wasn't right when the camera was not showing footage of the car during the safety car incident and the car being covered over once on the back of recovery truck. Only heard the news of the fatality early evening though which put a sombre mood on the evening. :(

Bar the above, another great weekend though and for those that have never been, make sure you book your ticket for next year :)

The ACO/FIA really need to sort of the safety car deployment as that certainly did get a bit of a joke in the end (nearly 5hrs of the race was behind the safety car). This was my 7th year at Le Mans and its never been that much of an issue so they obviously did something different this year.

I'm not sure that it was due to the constantly changeable conditions catching drivers out plus after Simonsen's tragic accident they aired on the side of caution. Simonsen seemed to clip the wet curb and after correcting hit dry tarmac which seemed to throw the car into a sharp left. The weather's always been unpredictable and changeable but this year was extreme in that respect, from one side of the circuit to another. Though overshadowed by the sad loss of Simonsen I thought it was a drama filled race this year, never a dull moment. I wonder if Toyota would have caught the lead Audi given another hour , certainly looked to be reeling it in once unlapped. I thought the free live web feed of the race was an excellent idea and a great service, f*ck you Murdock ! :D
