Yes, it is easy to 'live and let live' but as we have seen some people just have to moan about something or pick on others just like they used to with the Rover Cooper owners in the early 1990's. Can I politely request that we call the modern version a MINI and not Bini......it is a childish unnecessary name and is taken as a derogatory term by most MINI owners (including me) even if that is not the intention, so hardly promotes good relations. :)

Must be honest i've been out of the scene for two years but can't believe this thread...i've now got an MGB Roadster (massively cheaper than a comparbale Mini btw) and people wave and toot whether they're in a 1930's Mg or a new MG6...none of this weird hatred of new models....I experienced it several times in Mini circles (it's only a Cooper and not an S etc) but people need to change mindset and appreciate that Mini/MINI is purely a brand name NOT a manufacturer...(like any other car really)

As regards the MCR, live and let live I say, I never did Beaulieu as it was just too far (although Pete did try and get me to tag along a couple of times ;) ), I actually think more people would help if it wasn't stuck in the far south of England....could maybe Birmigham area not be tried?? Just thoughts but as i've found from being a car rally clerk of the course...more people like to knock the do'ers than ever offer to help...

My apologies, indeed it wasn't intended this way. For me, Mini's are my field of interest and MINI's are more or less 'just modern cars', so I just walked past them, that's all. My point being that tastes do vary and that everyone is entitled to have his/her own.

It's all in the details - one of the things I like about Beaulieu is the inspiration you get from looking at everyone else's cars...

Thank you for your considerate reply (unlike some I could mention! ) and no offence was taken by me.....as you say everyone is of course entitled to have there own opinion, tastes and interests.

The Beaulieu Event Entry Photos are here:
http://www.bluepigphoto.co.uk/f756671189

Based on the photos above, overall numbers of both Classic Mini's and New MINI's attending caught by the gate camera were up for 2013 no doubt helped by the sunny weather this year. 8-)
Beaulieu 2012 - 664 cars passed the entry gate photographer......of which 522 were Mini's and 142 were MINI's.
Beaulieu 2013 - 847 cars passed the entry gate photographer......of which 670 were Mini's and 177 were MINI's.

Yes I spotted you with Mr Harrison and Mr Williams. I see you had your flat hat on, but no whippet. :)
