Willowbank Dirt Sprint in my 998cc Buggy
Willowbank Dirt Sprint in my 998cc Buggy
my first run back after a 2 year break , a few massive heart attacks , dieing a couple of times, & then a major stroke.
So i`m a little bit rusty at the wheel but had an absolute ball , arms are so sore they`re numb & feel like they`re about to fall off, & my neck just cranks it`s so sore... but there`s this huge smile on my face & for some reason i can`t stop giggling

it`s good to be alive

Re: Willowbank Dirt Sprint in my 998cc Buggy
yeah made it myself, but mostly out of mini bits (mini front subframe cut up a bit, cooper-S wheel assys, mini steering column, brake cyls, trailing arms are moke etc etc ) with just the space-frame i made up into a rolling chassis in about 2 weeks of mucking around
making the frame was the easy part (& only about $50 worth of metal),,, but designing it so everything can be got-at & worked-on & removed etc when it`s a complete car was the time consuming part.
it would be all well & good making a car up but sometimes, at some stage, you will need to work on it & take stuff out to repair etc & if you can`t get the diff out , or the steering rack out without cutting the frame or removing the entire engine then you havn`t really thought about it hey?
but i`m loving it ,,, well not so much in a kinky love way

In-Car Video of a run at the Grafton Hillclimb last weekend-->
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SNQ2nRG_NNM
check out the slides & the spinning wheels
the diff has gone all open on me (no longer an LSD, it`s a bit shredded & slipping badly) & the slicks have gone off (hard) with age so time for a few new things i spose
maybe a tran-x & some new slicks are in next on the shopping list

in-car video from Lakeside Raceway practise last weekend (sat morn)
just toying around cause i havn`t tuned the new engine yet,,, i will soon tho.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nS5fWpbnFEo
snapped & threw the drive chain off after a few more laps it was pretty old & haggard
i bought a new one now so we are back on track
& yes the diff is now an open diff (shredded 2 diffs in a couple of years) so now it`s out getting fixed too
ah well,, ya get that on the big jobs ey?
oh & it`s gear`d a bit too zippy for this track hey? 12.500rpms before the tower & holding it bouncing on the rev limiter all the way through the kink,,, i should be pulling another gear just before the kink
i`ll probably fit a pair of (Taller-wider) 13"x10" slicks onto the front for next time out
hope you like
