6x10 JA Pearce Magna wheels with Spinners + arches?
Love the 6x10 JA Pearce Magna wheels with Spinners on this Mini at Beaulieu.

Can anyone tell me what arches these are? and any tips for fitting securing the chrome arch trim (flat or deluxe?) over arches. Back in the 1970's mine was always falling off!
These look similar from JA Pearce website:

Nice cars... shame about the wheels/arches. I know it's all retro everything but nah ....
Those wheels remind me of jacked up V4 capri's with lit up back axles.
Each to their own.

Look like the Group 2 Wide arches from abs, huddersfield etc.

Known as Gp 5 or wide Gp 2, unlike the more common Gp 5 arches which were flatter & had no flange for the side trim, these were just a wider version of the Gp 2 arch & are also available from Wood & Pickett.
Sorry, LDR209H, I always liked the J.A. Pearce wheels, which were around long before the Ford Capri!

I painted the rear axle on my Volvo, and fitted a Red lightLDR209H wrote:

Think it lasted 2 or 3 days before I got pulled over.
Do I need to add, that the Police were NOT impressed

If everything was showroom standard as it left the factory it would get very boring.....bring back 'period' mods!

That's what so great about Minis though - you can chuck all sorts of goodies at them and make them your own - on the L2B run last week I don't think I saw two cars that were the same. When my car's finished it'll be 'period' with several nice bits bolted on that you could buy over the counter from '68 onwards - don't get me wrong, I love seeing factory fresh cars at shows or out on the road, given the chance a lot of us would no doubt have one 'factory' car and one modified as well... each to their own etc.mab01uk wrote:If everything was showroom standard as it left the factory it would get very boring.....bring back 'period' mods!
When the black car arrived in the marque I had a chat with the owner about the wheels and arches as I thought they looked like slightly overfed Group 2s... lovely motor, lovely wheels...! (Same goes for the white Mk3 S that was sat next to it)...
(Edit - meant to add... I think Minispares do the folded over metal clips you use to attach the horizontal chrome trim to the doors on Coopers, Elfs, Hornets etc.. they might work on your car if you fit a few inside the flexible wheel arch trim)

Scattered around the field at Beaulieu on Sunday I think I counted 15 or 16 Island Blue / Snowberry White Mk2s.... my missus thinks it's a rare colour and we should keep our car completely original, I told her no chance, it's already been three other colours as well as blue & white...!

Saw a nice Mini, with Cobra slot mags leave Beaulieu, as we folded the MCR pavillion.
Such a set were originally fitted by my Father, on my Green Mini, when she was new.
They are still with me after all these years, and I have bought a 7.5" disc set,
to replace the 8.4" so I can reunite them, with the car.

Had a set of these in the '70's.......the Mini spanned many eras of car 'fashions' and each has their place and nostalgia/appeal, often dependent on your age and when you owned your first Mini!surfblue63 wrote:Just for you LDR a Mini with Wolfies I spotted last night.LDR209H wrote: I don't doubt it. Had an email back from JA Pearce about 5''x10'' and 6''x10'' Magnas... £2,410.80 for a set of five, plus delivery...! I'd be scared to let them out of the garage at that price...
(They are nice though...)

Scary isn't it? Fifty years ago that sort of money would have bagged you a brand new E-Type! Makes Rosepetals look cheap too..!
I think I'll carry on looking at s/hand ones till I decide what to do when my car's finished... the D1s on it now are lovely, but those JAPs are so appealing...

For that price, JAP man has been totally and utterly smoking dope to excess.
Brilliant workmanship, completely retarded business plan. No way do those wheels reflect the price and the supply/demand of the existing stock will see those (few) people who want them will shuffle the existing wheels between them.
To put things in perspective, my last set which were like new...matching 1967 set cost me £200. (6.5" x10" 8 spokes)
My previous 6x10" set cost me £180, I recall. I had a 5"spare to go under the boot board.
I'd pick his bankrupt stock up at auction.

They are OK on drums but on S brakes, they look totally silly.
Mine melted in a big fire.
