Not got that far yet lol have nearly cleaned 46 years worth of oil and grime of the engine and only just started to venture inside , this is what the thermostat housing looked like both housing and water pump were so corroded parts of them crumbled to dust

Did you strip the engine and box down any further or are you just popping the head back on to see how it runs?

Just gonna see how it runs I got it running prior to the head being stripped although it was really rough as you can see by the seized valves which are now sorted I haven't stripped it any further I have replaced the primary gear oil seal new clutch and water pump taking a gamble but not a major problem if engine has to come back out once installed

Lol I no once I have restored the hydrolastic subframes and sprayed the under side it can finally go back on its wheels which would be excellent as this would free up a big space in my garage where the subframes are kept! ( room for more goodies ) I intend to do the L 2 B next year in it!

Making some real progress tonight I have aligned the bonnet to the scuttle got a good equal gap on that also removed the old front slam panel and dry fitted the new next job is to clean metal for welding then tack front in place for now at least so I can then look at aligning up the wings and inner/ outer a panels ! Bonnet is actually not shut its just on the secondary hook hence the gap!

I have now fitted the passenger side inner a panel and trial fitted the wing to find it wasn't sitting correct below the headlight when measuring and comparing to the previously fitted drivers wing I found that the L shaped piece of the wing had been welded in wrong now this has been rectified I can crack on with fitting it! Also had to remove headlight ring as this was out and in the pic you can see the panel in its correct position about 15 mm out of alignment to where it should have been
