As the title say's, I had a trial fit of a couple of items todday and it has got me a bit confused (not hard)
The exhaust manifold downpipe is touching the remote housing, could this be that the manifold may not be a 970 one, I know they were meant to be slightly shorter as the block is lower but I would think that may make it even worse?
Block drain tap hits the manifold too. Could use a plug but would prefer not to.
Rocker cover vent pipe will foul the pcv, not the right early type pcv on at the moment but I would not think there is much difference in them?
Any ideas gratefully accepted.
Gray

Hi Gray,
That rocker cover is the early pre PCV type with the link pipe to the air filter. You need the sealed type r/cover with correct oil cap for your engine.

Re: Clearance issues
Gray, your engine looks pretty much like mine, apart from the cc's. The block drain tap does close very near to the exhaust manifold, it even can touch it if you fully turn it to the left.
Regarding the rocker cover, I may be wrong (!) but I think you have the early pre PCV cover. From memory I would say that when PCV was introduced, the vent pipe was deleted and your cover shouldn't have the vent hole.

Re: Clearance issues
Thanks Bob & Ricardo, just as well I did not get around to giving it a top coat of paint then, all the pictures I seem to see have everyone using aftermarket air filters so I put it down to that being the reason they did not have the vent doh!! I shall have to see what I have in stock then!! With the manifold I think I will linish the seem down a bit.

Re: Clearance issues
Can't fault the answers above. Those factory manifolds always seem to run very close. It may be better to swap to a drain bolt as the last thing you would want would be the tap being opened accidentally and you loose your coolant.

Yes that had gone through my mind Mark, if I use the tap then I will drill and lock wire it.
