He is from New Zealand which got UK built Coopers

Yes, I realise that HE is from NZ, but he states (in the questions & answers) that the CAR was an Oz assembled CKD car ;).
The photos aren't that great but the car appears to have an Australian chassis plate I think?

Oz cars had wind up windows from 1965 onwards. This car has sliding windows so presumably is a UK car. Which ever it is and where ever it is from it looks a bit pricy to me. :roll:

That is unless some clot accidentally spilled a glass of water into the desk drawer. :-)

The shell looks able to be restored to me.

Just need to replace the wings, front panel, roof, floor, boot lid, doors and a couple of other bits and pieces.

The bonnet looks solid so that's a bonus! :roll:

Here I shall give the following information which you may need to check the vehicle history;

Reg. No. = HMV 773E

Chassis No.= K-A2S4-1000684

Engine No. = 9F-SA-Y58456

Make = MORRIS

Model = MINI COOPER S

Body type = SALOON

Above are from the V5c
If you are thinking of bidding on this you should take very, very careful note of the last line. I would also draw your attention to the engine number. :ugeek:

Sound advice. The seller is perhaps a bit foolish printing the full registration number as it isn't impossible for the DVLA to put a marker by it. Assuming that IS the correct registration of course. A quick DVLA car check of that registration didn't show up when I tried :o

HMV with an E suffix isn't a period issued registration i.e. it was not issued in 1967, although it could be one used for re-registrations.

Son of god!

£3100.

Are people mad? The DVLA will know about this in a major way.

See, what you really need to do is to go to minispares, get some chassis plates made up, go and break into someone's garage, steal their red/white cooper S and hey presto, a proper Cooper S for £3100.

Perhaps not such a bad idea after all.

I am of the opinion that the DVLA should follow through with their small print threats. Go and read your V5c if you haven't already....it's enough to stop anyone putting one on ebay.
