Sportex, RC40 or Maniflow?
Hi all
VFF is running a 1293 engine but is currently without an exhaust!! Which system would be the best in terms of sound and performance??
Cheers. Tim.

I've always been a fan of the Maniflow manifold and a twin box RC40. None of the leaks you get with an LCB and a pleasant, not too abrasive note

Tim, you seem to have overlooked the "cherry bomb" back box and peco's range of 3-5" back boxes! Hahaha! Go for the maniflow manifold and rc40..

Hi Tim, have you considered the classic 2 " straight through scaffold pipe, lifted from any local building site??? I am in the Maniflow and single box RC 40 (stainless) gang and it soundls lovely but is a bit wearing after a while. Twin box RC40 gets my vote. Cheers. Mark

Hi Tim,
Maniflow LCB and twin box RC40....too quiet on my S replica so I changed to single box.....sounds great. My 998 Cooper with its single box RC40 sounded better than the S to start with and I couldn't have that
I must be bucking the trend of middle age equals twin box RC40 in that case.

Re: Sportex, RC40 or Maniflow?
I remember when it was all trees round here.......
Worryingly, a collegue in her mid 50's said to me the other day "I want to be like you when I grow up". I'm 40 next year.
(The clubmans racer will however be VERY loud. Purely to alert other road users you understand m'lud)

Safety first Al!
Fast and loud and why not!

Re: Sportex, RC40 or Maniflow?
I wouldn't use anything but a maniflow manifold and either a maniflow system or a rc40
all the above has been properly designed to suit the application and is of a proven quality (bar the manifold on my gtm, which was made too long )
all the massive bore el cheapo stuff just takes ages to fit, doesn't fit and sounds terrible
I don't think there is a finer sound than a single box RC40 on a mini, whatever the engine size

please note, these are my own, individual sales, nothing whatsoever to do with my employer, minispares

Hi Tim,
You may try the new Maniflow made Cooper S crimped box exhaust, and let us know how it looks and sounds!

Re: Sportex, RC40 or Maniflow?
Haven't used anything but Maniflow manifolds (Usually LCB) & Mini Spares RC40 (usually single box) for getting on for 30 years, don't imagine I'll change now.
