mk1 door seals

Could someone advise me where i may purchase rubber door seals for my mk1 as have just wasted a day trying to fit my doors using brand new "specialist" supplied items which are probably not for my model of car.
Why do these traders employ people who are not capable of listening to a simple request- i can imagine these imbeciles
with their corsas and saxos laughing at our pathetic old bangers,they probably think if the part is for a mini "job done "! Anyway many thanks for any suggestions you may have.

There is a company that sells all kinds of door seals, plastic trim & all that kind of stuff who have a sales unit at the British Mini Day at Himley Hall, unfortunately I can't recall the name of the company, but weather permitting, the Himley Show is only a little over 2 weeks away (12th May), so if you're not in a desperate hurry, that may be a solution. Not knowing where you live, & whether you attend that show, but if not I would be happy to get details of the company & pass them on to you, I usually buy from them & have found their products to be of good quality.
As regards the Corsa's & Saxo's, over the past 20 years I have been proved right many times in saying that my Mini will still be running when their cars have gone to the big scrapyard in the sky! Not pathetic old bangers in my eyes, probably the most fun & reliable classic you can own. Sir Alec Issigonis did us proud!

Don't normally like quoting companies but I've had recent dealings with Minimine (they restore Mk1/2's) and they buy theirs from Somerford and they fit (apparently). I've always tried to find them s/h at mini shows but it is a thankless task these days !

Phoenix above are usually at shows like Castle Combe and London to Brighton.......their Mk1 door seals seem to allow the doors to shut, unlike some other suppliers.......

Another vote for Phoenix Trim from me - they have a great range of seals and are always helpful.

Many thanks to you all for pointing me in the direction of Pheonix, they were really helpful and very sympathetic to my plight .
I ordered the smallest of their mk1 seals on monday and they arrived next morning-I'll let you know how i get on A.S.A.P. in the meantime thank you all for your help.

Yes, please let us know your outcome, I had someone ask me about this at the weekend, a lovely newly restored 64 Cooper, but all sorts of trouble with the seals

the current ones that minispares sell are pretty good, I tried all the samples they got on a couple of my cars and chose the best for them to stock. these have a fairly small hollow triangle which squashes down a treat.

ive found that door seals often get blamed when the real culprit is poor a panel replacement, welding the a panel too far in doesn't give enough room for the seal to fit, which then pushes the door out and starts the dreaded 'sailors leg'

The seal section that i chose fits perfectly in fact it may be a little too small in places but i can live with that. While i was awaiting delivery i found a piece of rear quater-light seal which is like a smaller version of the original door seal,i fitted it in the really tight spots and the doors did not bind or distort in any way(this seal came from pheonix by the way) so it may be worth trying this before buying door seals(presuming that you are needing rear quater-light seals) as this may be just the thing to get you out of trouble,it is very soft sorbo type rubber and i wish that i tried it before i fitted it to the window aperture.
