aren't these a replica of the exacton wheels? I have an old set in my garage, and always wondered how they will look like on a hornet! Very tempting..

Re: This Years Must Have Wheel?
The wheels aren't bad. The repro rosepetals seem to be on just about every up-specced early Mini now and are starting to become a bit inevitable.

From a business point of view, I think it's bordering on stupid and reckless. However, I totally applaud him on his sentiment.
The world needs more people like him.
I like the reissue JA Pearce wheels, but they are about £500 each.

Re: This Years Must Have Wheel?
From the 400 wheel they had made 100 went to Japan and out of the remaining 300 only 60 are left so sounds good busness to me they also plan on making 12" and 13" . the speedwell wheel centres are now available to fit the wheels

Re: This Years Must Have Wheel?
When I mentioned business plans, I was thinking about the costs/analysis of the whole process.
I am very familiar with getting things tooled up, the costs involved and how bloody pricey it actually is. He must have got someone who is either based in china, or doing it as a labour of love....or they are £400 each.

mini spares bought some Vortz ones and simply did a poor in accurate copy and made them lower quality, cheaper version.

news to me........
just think of all that time and money we could have saved if we had done this......
I guess I must have dreamt the 18months we spent having sample wheels sand cast, trying them, using them, jiggling them around to suit the requirements of the modern appendix k racers. they where never done as a 100% copy of any previously made rose petal style wheel.
once both we and the racers where happy we had the wheels die cast and correctly finished to a high standard with quality nuts and washers, there was no corners cut anywhere. this is why they cost what they did.
