Very tidy looking shell. It's even got it's rear slinging fixing still in place. keep us posted with the progress.

Thanks for your comments the shell is really good all it need is 2 a panels one wing rear valance and a couple of plates in the boot and subframe area, the floor and front panel are like new cant really believe how good the shell is
The headlight ring was removed and needs to be replaced as the wing is still good hopefully won't take to long to complete

Anyone know how I can find the month out I don't have a log book yet as its been off the road for 30 years and the old owner has lost the log book so just waiting for the paper work to be sorted outricardo wrote:An hydro shell with a full skirt front panel, nice! What month was it built?

Big holes on the bulkhead for the hydro hoses, floor tags for pipes, reinforcements on the rear.Frogeye61 wrote:I can't see that it is a hydro shell.ricardo wrote:An hydro shell with a full skirt front panel, nice! What month was it built?
You can start by inspecting some details on the car and checking the dates stamped on parts to see if a pattern comes up. What type of sun visors are fitted? Small sunvisors with a centre chrome fixing plate or are they the swiveling type fixed at the corners? What type of interior mirror, metal or plastic?C9rum wrote:Anyone know how I can find the month out I don't have a log book yet as its been off the road for 30 years and the old owner has lost the log book so just waiting for the paper work to be sorted out

"Big holes on the bulkhead for the hydro hoses"
Ricardo the last Dry shells in '64 had the large hole with a rubber grommet on top (mid 64 - sept 64) maybe earlier.
Is there an FE number on the inner wing over the rad. This will date the shell.

It has dry subframe s on the car are they the right ones ? The sun visors mount in the middle on a chrome bracket, mirror is crackle black metal one ,there is no fe number on the inner wing and it doesn't look like there ever has been there is a plate on the front panel and in the drivers side floor should it have a fe number on the inner wing ?

Re: My 1964 project
I'd say yes, the car looks unmolested so the dry suspension should be correct and ties up with the sunvisor mountings. Change point for both is September 64. The car must have been built close to the introduction of the hydrolastic suspension, I guess. August, early September 64. Or... I can be wrong.
The number on the front panel is the body number. Is it around 31K?
