Every so often I come across a photo of this car on Carnaby Street in mid- late '60s. It often seems to appear on cheap compilation albums etc.
Any one know if it belonged to anyone famous, a shop owner etc?
No reason for asking, just curious.

Not entirley sure but there was a similar car that lived in one of the shop windows there.

Quite a national media row in period over original door handles doing damage to pedestrians. Reversing it was common. Hence the later button type.
In rallying it was even more relevant, with marshals getting clothing caught. Can't recall now whether Aaltonen starting a stage of the RAC with the official stage watch caught in the door handle was with that handle or the later one.

I recently have been recording a series on BBC Three called Britain on film. Its basically documentary of 60's life and im sure one of the episodes showed this mini, as it was the 1st time I have ever seen it. I will have a look and check the footage
