Mini - Cooper S V.I.P.

Post by InimiaD »

I didn't know of these (this) Cooper Car company modified example until i read about them in an early "AUSTIN" magazine that I purchased recently.
The mag has a 2 page article comparing the "S" V.I.P. and a Radford Mini de Ville.
Do any of these "S" V.I.P. Minis still survive today.?

Your wish is granted sir. ;)

You may need to save in Windows pic viewer to enlarge the script though.
The pictures didn't come out very well either. :?

Here is a picture from when the Bertone Mini still had its original grill = http://www.minimarcos.org.uk/altpics/bertone.html

People say there was only one made ? but I have found pictures with 2 different set of gauges ?

maybe the instruments were changed together with the frontend ? or ?

Here is another Bertone. I reckon this is the same as the VIP cooper S, a lot of detail is the same as the car in the article.

As far as I have heard, is it suppose to be the one & same car.

The grill was changed, but as I already mentioned, so did the instruments.

More to find out ? just a shame John Cooper is no longer with us  he would have known.

Yes when it came back to Coopers it was modified as JC thought it looked a little too radical, the original grille looked too much like an Elf/Hornet, it's the same car HGU 55C.
