Doing a fine job.
Minis just don't look right on anything but 10s. Should be on the road before long.

I'm sure I sent the 'Austin' bit of the script to the cars last owner when he bought the car. Do you still need the rear nuber plate flap?

Look for another garage, no question.
The saloon is coming along nicely.

So it's summer time almost and still no other garage.
What would the cars be worth?
1961 smooth roof mini van.....
1962 mk1
Both original both been painted recently.
Obviously can't tell without seeing them.... But rough price?

Re: MK1 mInI Saloon : 1962 restoration project.
"I notice in your engine bay picture you have the brake and clutch master cylinders the wrong way round. ie the caps go to the back.
The way you have them looks like the most obvious way I must admit...."
Having just fitted mine I was wondering if you have actually driven the car yet?... The reason that the caps are the wrong way round is that you have a brake cylinder attached to the clutch pedal and viky verka. While the cylinders are (dimensionally) the same, the layout and internals differ. So the (brake) can attached to the clutch pedal may well have clutch internals and if so it will work properly.....
You may well appreciate this but I didn't see a response to the original comment so thought I'd speak up ... just in case...???
Cheers, Ian

Why is it that whenever anyone posts a series of photos showing the Mini that they're working on, there's always ANOTHER Mini in the background under a pile of bits?
Is one not enough? Like potato chips?
I wish I knew how to do metal work like you!

Re: MK1 mInI Saloon : 1962 restoration project.
Always have spare parts left over when I build a car and try to make the most of them... Into another mini shape.....
Cocoon looks good but last year we had 4foot of snow up here.... Think it might not survive.....
Still got them both for now though....
