Out washing the trusty Tdi VW on a cold December Saturday morning, thought the mini looks cozy in its winter hibernation! Started every couple of weeks and rolled out onto the driveway to rotate the tyres and keep the brakes and clutch moving.
Cant wait for the salt to disappear off the roads in spring!
Is everyone else in our lovely climate parked up or are you using your cars as normal?

deffo using mine, its been out today in the norfolk sunshine .. but only when its dry and sunny pref !!...when u reach 60+..its far better to get the max use out of your car ..!!!!... long time d lol !!!!...... i dont subscribe to my s being tucked away for months on end.. better to get some traction... brake use and using the engine on a regular basis is far better and more fun !!! my humble view only as some are bound to disagree..a proper bmc service like they used to do (black mamba on the forum)...giving it the once over lol !!!.... nothing better than having a nice drive on barely used norfolk country roads on a sunny,dry winters day.... my tip though when returning to garage leave door open for 15 mins while car is cooling down to reduce poss of condensation/moisture building up..and never ever show it a bucket of water and a sponge ! plenty of clever waterless cleaning agents on the market for our rust buckets...(showroom shine).. if its good enough for listers its good enough for my mini.......... i have done the same for 13 years of ownership and i know of no problems and it always passes its m o t... lucky me foxy52

For the past four weeks I've been regretting my decision to stick the Moke in storage. 
But,I figure we're gonna get plenty of the white stuff
We've had some chilly and wet weather. But, there's been quite a few days I could've taken her out for a romp....
The big problem we have is with salt. Instead of folks slowing down and using decent tires, they just salt the snot out of the roads to keep traffic moving.
So, she's sleeping until at least late March or early April. At least I won't unlock the warehouse to find a pile of rusty dust.
But,I figure we're gonna get plenty of the white stuff

No chance , we have loads of snow & ice, so all roads are covered with salt

....lol.. jens hardly surprising with yr climate !! salt and snow and i would draw the line to...our policies or mine at least reflect limited mileage .. eg i have driven 13500 in 12+ years in it..no exclusions re winter months use... i just avoid days when roads are wet,pre salted,no sun,icy,snowy.... even then i try to keep my distance from any lorries or farm tractors i come across on country roads... today is fine here.. cars been out...thats 3 times in 7 days... my car is well polished and liberally sprayed underneath with all kinds of water repellants !!! it will outlast me lol.. happy miniing ,have a happy x/mas .... foxy52..JC T ONE wrote:No chance , we have loads of snow & ice, so all roads are covered with salt

Just been down to check on my old wrecks. 
They live in a wet, drafty old barn surrrounded by dogshit 
on a farm - the perfect hideout for them except when it rains or blows a gale! 
Both seem OK though 
and, unlike some, i didnt manage to tread in owt while i was there

Just transferred my MK2 road car into the big garage.
It doesn't normally sleep in there, but the brake Master cylinder has decided to start leaking.
I wouldn't mind, but the MOT is due next week so have the most pleasurable of jobs ripping the old one out and fitting a rebuilt one over Christmas.
At least the old master came out easily which helps matters.
As for hibernation, no, the poor thing gets used all year round.
