Dash Liners

Post by sracing »

Hi All,

I am trying to source some dash liners for my 61' Deluxe with Blue/Grey Fleck trim. I am aware Grey Fleck liners are available from Newton, however I am looking for the off-white plain liners? Does anyone know of a supplier for liners in this spec?

I would prefer original trim panels if anyone has some they are willing to part with? I don't mind if they are a little tatty.

Thanks.

My understanding is that Newton will custom make liners for you, assuming they have the correct material.

My '61 Traveller has grey headlining material on the dash liners and Newton will make them, although they aren't listed on their website. Are you referring to this material?

If so, the same material was used in heaps of BMC cars around the period and is readily available from
a lot of upholstery suppliers. For example Woolies list it. http://www.woolies-trim.co.uk/c-94-vinyl.aspx

if it had blue/grey and fleck(only fitted to morris ) trim it would have NOT had fleck dash liners

newton DO LIST THESE in the grey headling material ,just make sure they dont send them you in cream crackle..

the grey headlining material is correct for this trim of car..

blue grey / fleck was fitted from late nov 59 to autumn 61 on clipper blue morris cars

the fleck dash liners on morris cars was deleted in nov 59 and it made a return in autumn 61 when blue grey / fleck was dropped and the tartan/fleck powder blue/fleck dark grey/fleck and porcelain green/fleck was introduced and the fleck liner was again dropped for good in october 1962

austins were never fitted with blue grey / fleck in standard form though blue grey monotone was used from oct 62 to autumn 1964 in monotone form on the austin and morris smoke grey super deluxes and basics.

hope this info is of some use
for my sins,i own a 1957 wolsleley 1500

Thanks for the information, thats very helpful.

New dash liners brought from Newton today - they were not on the website in grey headlining - but they added them whilst I was on the phone. Fantastic service.

Thanks again for the help.
