Someone uploaded these gems to the tube some time ago...
They are films - shot for television - from the Norwegian Ice-racing championship.
First one is from 1971 and sees my present racecar in a "starring role" [read: roll]... not the best of days.

Second is from from 1979 - and although after the Mini's heyday... still fun to watch!

I love watching interesting cars that were never that popular in the UK, like racing Simcas!
What size of engine would have been in Kadette coupes, they looked fast

Re: Norwegian Iceracing Championship from the 70's...
Kadetts would be 1900cc in the '71 video as the first heat was a Group 1 race.. The second could be 2000cc or more depending upon if it was Gr. 1 or 2.... (I think they might have been Gr.1 "plus".... fuel crisis and all)
The chap in the Simca is Tore H. Bratlie - many times Norwegian champion thanks to his "quick-of-the-line" Simca Rally.
He ended up racing a Metro 6R4 Gr. B / Div. 2 RallyCross machine.... even had a go at Pikes Peak in that I think

I used to deal with a chap who owns 3(yes, 3!) 1930s 8C Alfas. One of them used to be used as an Ice racer in Sweden! he now races it at Goodwood and other rather more 'genteel' events
Things you do with just another old racing car - don't suppose the owner then ever dreamed what it's value would reach these days as he hoofed it round the ice. I think there is a youtube video of it in action
It is now back in it's national colours of Blue with 3 white bonnet stripes, but no spiked tyres
