I am taking a template if mine today. As another member also wants one for his race car.

Not sure how well it will email over and stay to scale but I can put measurements all over it for you to check when you print it out.

Or I can send it in the post.

That's if someone has not emailed you already.

My 66 1275 S was reshelled at some time prior to my ownership and the hole was cut in the floor with a gas axe!

Details of the correct shape and position of the hole would be most welcome, thanks in advance.

To do the job properly is not just cutting a hole. You also need to cut two square slots in the crossmember flange for the remote bolts to sit down into - if there are two holes drilled straight down through the crossmember flange and the floor, it's a converted 850 shell. You can do these cut outs with a super sharp wood chisel. Also, the gearlever hole seemed to have two slight 'steps' on the middle of the front and rear edges where the hole was stamped out at the factory. It can be easily replicated with a flat file.

Thanks to Slowboy I have posted a PDF copy of the original fitting instructions for the SPQR "Major Change" gear lever conversion.

You can download the file here: http://mk1-performance-conversions.co.u ... ctions.pdf

Make sure that if you print it out you select the "DO NOT SCALE" option otherwise the templates will come out the wrong size.

Thanks Slowboy!
