Re: wood & pickett
Pretty early W&P stuff that, I've seen it and have close ups if anyone needs to know more. Very unusual, especially the dash which unfortunately has been snapped. Can't see why it'd have that sort of value unless you've already got an early brown Wood & Pickett with no trim.
There was also a centre console with it and a centre arm rest/storage box which seems to have gone walkies as have the walnut rear companion box tops which were lovely and the door timbers, maybe they've been slotted into a Radford..... The seller is a nightmare and when I turned up half of it was still in the loft and not viewable...after an hour's drive.
All came out of a 1970 Clubman as I remember.

Yes the speedo indicate, that it most likely, would be from a Clubman.
Interesting door trim, never seen that type before
did you see any numbers on the back of the door cards / rearseat ?
would love to find some lids, for my cars rear companion boxes.
Once saw a Green interior for sale in Scotland,
but it was too much to buy, just to get the box (only one, the other were rotted away)

Re: wood & pickett
Yes the W&P job number was under the companion box lid, didn't make a note of it sorry.
Seats and centre doofers....
Dash....
Rear comp box lid...this one was damaged.
Heater cover...
It's similar (but not the same) as the interior from that W&P Mk2 'S' in Iran.

Re: wood & pickett
Hi Pete,
thanks for posting the pictures
some nice & bespoke W&P stuff there, never seen a dash like that before, neither seats / doortrim , or center heater console
The rear box lids would not be of any use to me, as they are for original size companion boxes.
Mine are the cut back ones, to make room for the bigger Recaro seats.
The interior in Scotland had the smaller cut back type, as my car.
Shame so many W&P,s ended up like this, but I guess the market for these cars, is very small, as the thread on SMF suggests.
The problem is, that unlike the Radfords (who mostly were pre built)
the W&P,s were built "to costumer spec" which sometimes (often) were very "exentric" = (read lack off) in taste .

Re: wood & pickett
You're right Jens, despite the fact that few Radfords are exactly the same the W&P conversions were pretty bespoke up until they standardised the Margrave etc in the early/mid 70's essentially for the Clubman. Having said that they were still using the same 'V' stitch design on the doors and seats in the 70's as they did one say Twiggy's Mini in the 60's. I saw a "Radford" last year locally that was in fact a W&P with yet another very individual dash and bespoke fabric covered seats.
Here's Brian Epstein's W&P door layout, does look a bit iffy....
And seats..note the top belt anchorage is in the seat itself !

Re: wood & pickett
With regards to the belt anchorage, is that when they used Range Rover seats ?
Never seen them in a mini before although a vaguely recall it being discussed by them in the 70s
- makes sense as the Range Rover seats also hinged/slid forwards for rear access.

Not sure but Brian Epstein's W&P pre dates the Range Rover by three years.pdaykin wrote:With regards to the belt anchorage, is that when they used Range Rover seats ?

Hi Pete, yes I know that Radford,s can be different too, but dont forget that they had 2 (or 3?) differnt models.
The Margrave dash layout were indeed standardiced, but the costumers could still choose the colour of the Leather.
This being the 70ies, many cars ended up with some "interesting" colours
I once saw a auction for those Chrome door handles the Epstein Mini has, but I didnt bid, as the seller had written they were new.
never seen another pair (exept for pictures of W&P,s)

Re: wood & pickett
The Epstein car's changed quite a bit since it the 60's as most cars do, colour etc , the (hidious) dash certainly has but it's essentially the same car not a re creation. Makes you wonder why he didn't get his done when the Beatles' Radfords were ordered, sadly he barely had time to use that car by the time he died.

Well it was built at the same time as an other famues star had his WP made.
Brydor Motors had the Epstein & Jagger WP,s built at the same time (1 car apart)
OGO 666E Epstein, OGO 668E Jagger.

If you pause it @ 8.44 - 8.45 you can see the small square WP badge between the grill & std badge
(where WP put them on a roundnose)
It also had the dark double shadowlite windows
anyone know how to "lift" a couple of frames out of the film ?

Re: wood & pickett
I lifted these using the Snipping Tool in Windows 7 and Enhanced a bit with Photoshop 9. The quality of the footage is not that good. I tried the large player on YouTube and it blurred more, and magnifying in Windows did not help either.
The car looks like it started off as a Mk2 Morris 1000 judging by the bonnet badge, grille and over riders.

Thanks for that hoped you would see my request
Shame they cut it, so the number plate dont show (maybe on purpose?)
Yes the original footage is not very good quality, but its nice to see the car,
and get confirmation that it was her WP = http://www.eurods.eu/wp/gallery/twiggy/twiggy.html
