Which sun visors for a 66 car registered 1967

Hi All. I have aquired a 1966 (registered 1967) Mk 1 Cooper and want to know whether the sun visors should be the stiff slimline type or the padded later versions. I thought the latter but the car is fitted with the former?? Cheers. Mark

My 66 was fitted with the padded variety and the 64 i had was fitted with the thin type in between ie early 65 were the pivot type which were able to pivot around to the side window. My 66 (which was built late 65) now has 65 pivot visors and the correct clips which were fitted by me in a moment of madness lol.

Is it a 'hydro' car or shell?

Maybe a reshell then as the mounting screws for the earlier pre '65 visor are in compeletely different places.

Thanks Pete. The cant rail was the only good bit left on the car and now you tell me it might be the wrong one
Will have a look tomorrow but I always thought the thin type were fitted to 64 or maybe 65 at a push. Cheers. Mark

I've heard that the padded swiveling type was fitted from September 64 to December 65 after which came the padded one with secure fixings at both sides (non swiveling).

So you might be right that the thin ones with center mounting were fitted till Sept 64.
