Re: Halfway to a Sprint
I reckon it'll take more than 3,000euros to fix THAT body
I'm guessing that price didn't include putting all the window pillars back properly. Or putting a proper front on it!
They just don't look right unless the whole body is cut and shut too, do they. Just a hideous mess really.

Re: Halfway to a Sprint
The numbers that get quoted quite often for period cars are approx 85 Trickett / GT Equipment, S&A I've seen as low as 6 and as many as 20 mentioned so maybe 100 in period plus the BVRT car but I don't know who cut that. Then you have the later tribute cars done by Church Green, perhaps 5 ???, John's Speedwell cars 20 ???, Mini Machine 10 ???, Marspeed 15 ???, Hawk (FG) 30 ???, Sprintworks (FG) ???, plus the home builds that are out there, and finally back to Neville's 'new' cars again, which I'm sure that Mark will be able to put an approximate figure to. As to survivors of the original 100, 5 that I know of personally 3 S&A and 2 Trickett, I'm sure there are more out there and there must be people that have far more information than I havefoxy52 wrote:...so how many original ones were made prior to end of mk 1 production in1967 ?? apart from the few pre production cars only 50 or so were sold via stewart and arden ?!!...then there was the e sussex reincarnation of the chopped mini in the 80,s was it ??....as u say thats a hideous car mk1 an 2 bits for sure...nothing like having a proper original vehicle .....for those lucky souls that own one... i remember seeing a pic of 2 parked up at suzuka some time back .... stunning !!!...mk1coopers wrote:How many more times will people advertise cars as Sprints when they are just a roof chop

Re: Halfway to a Sprint
This carbon fibre Sprint won't have any rust issues.....
"This Sprint Carbon Fibre Composite bodyshell is a sleek interpretation based on the Minisprints from the 1960's and 70's.
The Carbon Fibre & Quadaxel shell is bonded and laminated at the seams and has reinforcement around the subrame and component mounts.
As with all Composite shells it is ABS Groups advise that a roll cage is used."
