I am in the process of digging out all the bits for my '66 1275 S resto. I have the tapet chest cover with the oil trap which is concave in shape, which is what I would have expected, but the other cover is concave - should this be the case or should that too be convex. The car was made in Nov '65
Thanks
Mike

Hi Mike, I think you may have made a typo,
did you mean to say your cover with breather is concave or convex?
As far as i know, early ones are convex with no return around the edge to help locate the gasket, late ones like yours are concave and have the return round the outside to locate the gasket.
James.

Thanks James
I will double check when I get back home, but from what you say, they should both be the same - i.e concave
Cheers

The convex covers (with cork gaskets) were used on the 1275S up until about January 1966. From engine number 9F/SA/Y40006 they were replaced by the concave covers and rubber gaskets.
